I took this from Allison, who took it from someone else. I have to thank The General, my father, for instilling a love of reading and literature from my infancy, and also for introducing me to Jane Austen.

I've seen this list a few times and never bothered to do it for myself because it's embarrassing how few of them I've read. Your list is impressive (though not surprising). You definitely must read Memoirs of a Geisha, though. Cathy H gave it to me one year and I adored it. You'd love it too, I know. (Btw the movie is sadly so-so).

you really should read "atonement" (don't bother with the movie), "life of pi" and "midnight's children" (or substitute that last one with "the moor's last sigh")--they are among the best books i've ever read.
"the kite runner" (again, the movie isn't as good), "the curious incident...", "a fine balance" and "the lovely bones" are also pretty good and worth seeking out.
and i'm offended that "the hitchhiker's guide" isn't underlined.

Noz - I shall rectify the situation forthwith! I can't believe I made that error!
