I hate exercise
I've never liked exercise. Endorphins passed me by. Running? Only when chased by large dogs. Treadmill? Boooo-ring. Exercise has always been an unappetizing, unrelenting chore.
I joined the YMCA today. Why? I need to exercise.
My (brilliant, gifted, wonderful, world-renowned, respected) surgeon told me the other day that when you lose weight rapidly as I've been doing, you lose muscle as well as fat, and that I need to do some weight-bearing exercise. Faaaabulous [/sarcasm].
So, starting tomorrow, I exercise.
Pray for me.

Hah! You'd run, and I'd lag behind, near death, admiring your ass.
Run?! You've got to be kidding me! I did 15 minutes on the treadmill this morning, as every elliptical machine was taken, and then a series of nautilus machines for resistance training. That's just fine for now. Maybe tomorrow I'll get more ambitious and go for 20 minutes on the treadmill/elliptical/boring-ass machine. You're welcome to come along, though!

Dammit! I posted a comment, but it didn't "take" somehow. Anyway,I totally hear you, darlin'. I loathe and despise exercise. The only way I can tolerate physical activity is combined with other things I like. Biking is tolerable if there are no hills and interesting scenery, for example. Walking is ok in a mall with copious window shopping stops. And finally, one ofmy favorites-- dancing. I actually did a decent bit of international folk dancing in college (greek, israeli, french, german, etc.) and it was a blast. I know! You can get the WCM to take a ballroom dance class with you! *dramatic pause....* Ok, done laughing? I actually did get the dh to take a class with me...though he only went to three of the eight classes.Grrrrr.
Anyhow, I'm with you, hon. Wish I were there to suffer with you. Have you considered curves? I hear good things about their atmosphere/philosophy.

The WCM dance? Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
You got that right. Not unless I've got the .44 and am shooting bullets at his feet.
I tried a Curves clone (Ladies Fitness Express, or something like that) and I hated it. It was soooo boring. I need to take a class. That's my preferred atmosphere. I'm looking them up now.

I often idly contemplate the possibility of joining a gym.
Unfortunately I prefer being idle.

It's my preferred state too. Unfortunately, idleness is no longer an option for me.
Crap. Crap. Double crap with knobs on.
